Diplomatic relations between the Türkiye and Bahrain have been established on 12 April 1973 with the accreditation of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

A Consulate Agency was established in Manama on 12 August 1986 in “Suhail Centre” at Diplomatic Area. The status of the Consulate Agency was later on changed as Consulate General on 2 February 1988.

Inauguration of the Turkish Embassy in Bahrain was on 19 December 1990.
